MOBILE, Ala. – The highly anticipated Black in Business Holiday Market is set to showcase a variety of mobile businesses, providing a platform for black-owned companies to exhibit their products and reach a wider audience. The event, a collaborative effort between Bishop State Community College and iHeartRadio, promises an exciting experience filled with shopping, live entertainment, and the special appearance of Memow and Papa Claus.

Scheduled to take place on December 16 and 17, the market organized by Black History Now Port City will be held at the Bishop State Community College located at 351 N. Broad St., Mobile. The aim of the event is to challenge the existing narrative by promoting high-quality, local brands and curating a unique and inviting holiday marketplace for the community. Aside from the remarkable shopping experience, the event organizers have also incorporated a coat drive to provide assistance to those in need during the winter months. The market will be accepting new coats as well as gently worn ones, with an estimated 550-650 homeless individuals in the Mobile community set to benefit from this initiative.

Local leaders have expressed their support for the Black in Business Holiday Market, recognizing its potential impact on the community. District 1 Councilman, Cory Penn, lauded the event, stating, The Black in Business Holiday Market is a wonderful opportunity to connect Black-owned businesses with the community during one of the most important shopping seasons of the year!… It’s just what the city needs to inspire other makers to pursue business ownership and change the local statistics about Black-owned businesses in Mobile!

The market presents a unique chance for the community to come together and support local black-owned businesses, all while enjoying festive activities and entertainment. By attending the Black in Business Holiday Market, visitors have an opportunity to contribute to the economic growth of the black community in Mobile and show their support for these businesses.

The event caters to a diverse range of interests and promises an enjoyable experience for all attendees. With its focus on promoting local brands and celebrating the achievements of black industry leaders, the Black in Business Holiday Market is set to become a significant event in the Mobile community.
