West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of enacting vendetta politics that is costing lives in the state. Speaking at a public gathering, Banerjee went on to say that the people of Bengal are being deprived of their rightful dues and are suffering due to BJP’s disregard for their state. The Chief Minister pledged to fight against tyrannical forces until justice is served to the people of Bengal.
Banerjee conveyed her condolences to the victims of the BSF shooting in Cooch Behar, stating that they would stand by the grieving families through thick and thin. She also criticized the Border Security Force for the torture they had inflicted on innocent people.
Banerjee expressed her gratitude towards the unwavering support of the people towards the Trinamool Congress, saying that their strength comes from the people’s support. She also cited various welfare initiatives implemented by the Trinamool Congress, such as Kanyashree, Lakshmir Bhandar, Khadya Sathi, Aikyashree, Medhashree, Krishak Bandhu, Sabooj Sathi, the students’ credit card, and Swasthya Sathi that have benefited lakhs of people.
Banerjee ended by saying that their commitment has always been towards the people’s well-being and ensuring their progress. We shall be the voice of the people and uphold the true meaning of democracy, she declared.
The Chief Minister’s comments reflect the ongoing political tensions between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP, with both parties accusing each other of political witch-hunts. However, Banerjee’s statements have garnered widespread support from her supporters, who see her as a champion for the people of Bengal in the face of BJP’s perceived aggression.
