BJP’s Nishikant Dubey will be the first speaker from the party in the Lok Sabha’s no-confidence debate today, as per party sources. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi, whose parliamentary membership was restored on Monday, will lead the Congress party’s discussion on the motion. The no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government was accepted by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla after being moved by opposition parties from the I.N.D.I.A bloc. The debate is scheduled to take place on August 8 and 9, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to offer a response on August 10.

According to sources, the discussion on the no-confidence motion has been allocated a total of 12 hours. The ruling BJP will have around seven hours to participate, while the Congress party has been allotted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. Additionally, the YSRCP, Shiv Sena, JDU, BJD, BSP, BRS, and LJP will get a combined time of 2 hours, which will be divided based on the number of MPs from each party present in the House. Other parties and independent MPs will have a time limit of 1 hour and 10 minutes. Opposition members in the Rajya Sabha have been requesting a discussion under Rule 267 since the beginning of the monsoon session on July 20.
