The Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee Chairman, Mohsin Raza, accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of playing Muslim appeasement politics and insulting India on foreign soil. Raza responded to Gandhi’s recent remarks made in San Francisco suggesting that the impact of certain actions of the BJP-led government was being felt sharply by minorities and Dalits. Raza claimed that the Congress party, who found themselves out of power in 2014 and 2019, came to power through Muslim appeasement tactics and failed to mainstream Muslims during their reign. In a scathing attack on the Congress party, Raza instead credited PM Modi with giving Roti, Kapda, Makaan (food, clothing, and housing) to India’s poor. Rahul Gandhi is currently in the US on a six-day visit to interact with the Indian diaspora.
