BJP Women MPs Submit Detailed Report on Bhilwara Gang Rape and Murder to Party President
A four-member committee of BJP women MPs has presented a comprehensive report to party president JP Nadda regarding the Bhilwara gang rape and brutal murder of a minor. The BJP had formed the committee, consisting of Rajya Sabha MPs Saroj Pandey and Kanta Kardam, as well as Lok Sabha MPs Rekha Verma and Locket Chatterjee, to investigate the incident.
The committee visited the victim’s family on August 6 to gather information firsthand. Following this visit, BJP MP Locket Chatterjee criticized the Rajasthan government for its handling of the incident and stated that the Gehlot government should step down. Expressing her shock at the heinous crime, she emphasized the need for immediate action and condemned the government’s silence on the matter.
Another committee member, Saroj Pandey, held the government responsible for the incident, alleging negligence on their part. Pandey criticized the lack of compensation or support provided to the victim’s family and the absence of punishment for the constable who should have been suspended. She also expressed disappointment with Priyanka Gandhi’s silence on the matter, despite her slogans advocating women’s empowerment. Pandey branded the Gehlot government as insensitive and apathetic.
Kanta Kardam, another BJP MP from the committee, described the incident as tragic and highlighted the administration’s failure to respond promptly. According to locals, the parents had approached the police station when their daughter was missing, but their concerns were ignored. Kardam expressed her belief that if the administration had been vigilant, this incident could have been prevented. She demanded action against the government and its dismissal.
The disturbing incident took place in Narsinghpura village, under the Shahpura Panchayat of Bhilwara district in Rajasthan. The police stated that some individuals allegedly gang-raped the minor girl before burning her body in a coal furnace. The locals discovered the girl’s remains and bangles, leading them to suspect rape and murder as the cause of her death.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot confirmed that seven individuals connected to the alleged gangrape and murder had been arrested so far. However, calls for justice and accountability are mounting, with demands for a thorough investigation and punishment for all those involved.
The BJP women MPs’ detailed report aims to shed light on the incident, urging action against the perpetrators and accountability from the government.
