BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla: ‘TMC stands for ‘Talibani Mindset and Culture’
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized the ruling party of West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC), labelling them as having a ‘Talibani Mindset and Culture’. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla made the statement following an attack on a team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the North 24 Paragana district. Poonawalla also cited Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who called TMC the same, and demanded the imposition of President’s Rule in the state. The incident has raised concerns about law and order in West Bengal, with calls for immediate action.
Poonawalla emphasized that TMC’s behavior reflects a ‘Talibani Mindset and Culture’, a sentiment echoed by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the state chief and MP of the Congress party. Chowdhury expressed his dismay over the attack on ED officials and condemned the ruling TMC, stating that law and order had collapsed in West Bengal. The Congress leader warned that such attacks could escalate, leading to potential fatalities.
The attack on the ED team occurred when they attempted to raid the residence of block-level TMC leaders, who were being investigated in connection with an alleged ration scam. Two ED officials were injured, and their vehicles were damaged in the incident. Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh insisted that the attack was a result of provocation and accused the Central agency of working on behalf of the BJP to target TMC.
However, tensions have arisen within the INDIA bloc, where the Congress party is in an alliance with the TMC. Poonawalla criticized the Congress leadership for forming an alliance with the TMC while Chowdhury openly expresses concerns about the state of democracy in West Bengal. Poonawalla called for clarification from Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi on their stance, questioning the nature of the alliance between the two parties.
The incident has sparked a debate about the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury urged for the immediate imposition of President’s Rule in the state due to the lack of security and the potential risks faced by central officials. With tensions rising and concerns over the ‘Talibani Mindset and Culture’ exhibited by the TMC, the situation in West Bengal remains precarious.
The Enforcement Directorate has filed a complaint regarding the attack, and investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible. As the political landscape in West Bengal becomes increasingly tense, it remains to be seen how the ruling TMC and its allies will address these concerns and work towards restoring law and order in the state.
