The state Congress chief of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, has accused the ruling BJP party of indulging in corruption even when it comes to religious projects. The BJP has turned the state into a corruption state, Nath alleged. He said the recent huge scam in the construction of the Mahakal Lok corridor in Ujjain had not only sullied the image of the town but of the state in the entire country. Nath claimed the BJP has used religion as a means of corruption and has shown no regard even for God. Nath listed some achievements of his now-collapsed government, which ruled the state from December 2018 to March 2020, before several MLAs rebelled and joined the BJP. Nath claimed he had provided some relief to farmers and to cow shelters. He alleged the BJP had indulged in sale and purchase of MLAs with money power to form a government by deceit and disrespected the people’s mandate.
