The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a rally in Patiala, Punjab, as part of the party’s nationwide celebrations on the completion of nine years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. The rally was attended by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, state party President Ashwani Sharma, and Vice-President Jai Inder Kaur, daughter of former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
Mandaviya addressed the rally and praised the pro-people policies of the Central government. He noted that the people of Patiala had shown their support for the BJP and would continue to do so in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He also talked about the Centre’s initiatives such as Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Ayushman Yojana, and India’s vaccination drive for COVID-19.
Mandaviya criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for playing politics over the issue of health and spreading lies and misinformation. He also highlighted how the AAP renamed health and wellness centres against the prescribed rules. State BJP Chief Sharma emphasized the need for Punjab to develop and grow beyond its current image of drug addiction. He stated that only the BJP could bring Punjab back to its glory days.
State BJP Vice-President Kaur spoke about Prime Minister Modi’s efforts towards the Sikh community, such as opening the Kartarpur Corridor and giving justice to the victims of the 1984 riots. She expressed her pride in having PM Modi as a leader and eyeing to enter electoral foray from Patiala.
The BJP rally sounded the election trumpet in Punjab for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
