Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Jammu and took a dig at the opposition’s unity, saying that they could not defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha poll. Shah predicted that the Bhartiya Janata Party would secure over 300 seats in the next general election and form the government. Speaking on the occasion of ‘Balidan Diwas’ of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Shah accused the Gandhi’s, Abdullahs, and Muftis of being responsible for the killing of 42000 people in Jammu and Kashmir from 1947 to 2014. He also lauded the Lieutenant Governor and security forces for successfully conducting the G-20 summit in Srinagar, with participants leaving with a message of peace and harmony.
Shah paid tribute to Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who opposed the inclusion of Article 370 into the Indian constitution on the pretext that one nation can’t have two flags, two constitutions and two heads. Shah added that If West Bengal is with India today, it was due to the vision of Dr Mookerjee. As India celebrates nine years of PM Modi’s rule, Shah said the BJP has tightened its noose on terrorism, resulting in terrorism being on the death bed, and terrorism activity now being at its lowest under Modi’s nine-year rule.
Shah stated that in 47 months after abrogation of Article 370, there were only 32 calls of strikes while stone pelting declined by 90 percent. The youth of J&K have replaced stones with laptops and books, he added. Shah also noted that, in 2022, 1.88 Crore tourists visited J&K. Finally, Shah sought the people’s support for Modi in the 2024 parliamentary polls, citing that there is no comparison between Rahul Gandhi and Modi, with Rahul Baba always opposing Modi.
