BJP MP Alleges Detention by People, Writes Letter to Odisha CM
In a recent incident, a BJP Member of Parliament (MP) has accused individuals of detaining her for a duration of two hours. The MP, who was dealing with public grievances at her office, revealed that over 200 people were waiting during the alleged detention. The MP wrote a letter to the Chief Minister (CM) of Odisha, questioning the state government’s actions and demanding compensation for the lost time.
This speaks of malicious intent on the part of the state government, the MP claimed. Expressing her concerns regarding the incident, she further questioned whether the CM’s carcade could be stopped on the road, even for a mere five minutes. The MP emphasized the equal value of everyone’s time and requested a response to her query.
The letter was publicly posted by Sarangi, a former civil servant turned politician, who voiced her disappointment at the prevailing law and order situation in the state, labeling it as shameful.
During the MP’s visit, a minor scuffle arose between her supporters and those protesting against her presence. However, the situation was quickly brought under control by the police. The MP was subsequently escorted to the meeting venue, where she engaged with residents as planned.
Responding to the incident, BJP spokesperson Dilip Mallick asserted that the BJP woman MP was forcibly detained, deeming it a disgraceful occurrence attributable to the state government.
As of now, the BJD has not issued a response to the allegations made by the BJP MP.
As with any developing story, it is imperative to note that these events are portrayed to the best of our knowledge at the present time. Further updates and reactions are expected in due course.
