According to senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader KS Eshwarappa, indiscipline has crept into the BJP, which is highly unusual for the disciplined party. Eshwarappa believes that due to dissatisfaction among party leaders and workers on the ground, indiscipline in the party has surged, but he refuses to blame Congress turncoats for the BJP’s bitter defeat in the recently concluded Karnataka assembly election. Eshwarappa will communicate his concerns with state party chief Nalin Kumar Kateel and talk to those who have made out-of-the-turn comments. He says that while it is unfortunate to see indiscipline in the party, the Congress party’s disease has caught the BJP and could be exacerbated by the entry of several Congress leaders.
In the May 10 Karnataka assembly election, the ruling BJP won just 66 of the 224 total seats, while the Congress party secured 135.
