Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP for Ignoring Farmers and Youth Issues in the Pursuit of ‘Viksit Bharat’
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, questioning the feasibility of a developed India without addressing the concerns of farmers and the youth. Yadav criticized the BJP government for focusing on the dream of a viksit Bharat (developed India) while remaining silent on critical issues affecting the agricultural community and unemployed youngsters.
During a media interaction at the Samajwadi Party office in Lucknow, Yadav highlighted the government’s unfulfilled promise of doubling farmers’ income, stating, Can there be a viksit Bharat without the prosperity of farmers? Have they addressed the plight of unemployed youngsters? Are they considered in the concept of ‘viksit Bharat’? Additionally, he challenged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to reveal how much of the promised investment of Rs 40 lakh crore has materialized on the ground.
Yadav went on to criticize the BJP’s lack of answers to these vital questions, accusing the party of occasionally hiding behind religious sentiments to avoid accountability. He expressed confidence that the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for April-May, will bring about a change. However, he urged voters not to let this opportunity slip away, emphasizing the need to consider whether similar voting opportunities will arise in the future.
The ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, initiated by the central government, aims to extend the reach of its flagship welfare programs to those who have previously been left out. Commencing on November 15 and ending on January 25, the yatra is intended to connect with marginalized sections of society and address their specific needs.
As the Lok Sabha elections draw closer, political leaders are intensifying their scrutiny of government policies. Akhilesh Yadav’s criticism of the BJP’s focus on a viksit Bharat without adequately addressing the concerns of farmers and the youth reflects the broader sentiment among opposition parties.
