BJP is afraid to hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir, according to National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah. He stated that if the people were content, the centre would have already announced elections. Abdullah also commented on the lack of essential services provided to people, including ration, electricity, and employment. He referred to drug addiction as a dangerous issue that needs to be taken seriously, noting that the government has yet to acknowledge it. Despite the opposition meeting on June 23 in Bihar, Abdullah said that the National Conference has a small role to play in the meeting. He suggested that those who have 50-60 seats should show unity, instead of relying on smaller parties to do so. During a Q&A session, he expressed belief that Islam is not a weak religion and that films made to defame it show hatred towards the religion.
