The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sought an explanation from three of its office bearers – Shubhendra Gaud, Saugat Mishra, and Nayan Soni – following a clash between BJYM activists in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The trio has been issued notices to submit their reply within 24 hours. Party sources claim that more than 20 city leaders have given feedback to the state leadership on the incident and that strict action may be taken. On Saturday, Saugat was beaten in a restaurant near Bhanwarkuan Square at the behest of Gaud, in the presence of BJYM state president Vaibhav Pawar, who was also manhandled during the clash. The incident was recorded on video and quickly went viral. BJYM officials had intervened on similar occasions earlier, but no action has been taken to date.
