Biotech Grad Criticized for Career Plans in Business, Receives Job Offer from Global Company

After completing her biotech degree in Canada, Ekta faced online criticism for expressing her future career aspirations in business. However, amidst the negativity, a ray of hope emerged in the form of a job offer from a global company.

Ekta, who found solace in Canada’s natural beauty and breathtaking sceneries, shared her love for the country and her dream of pursuing a career in business in a video. Unfortunately, instead of support and encouragement, she faced backlash and mockery from trolls online.

But then, Nami Zarringhalam, the co-founder of Truecaller, stepped in and extended a job offer to Ekta. He condemned those who were ridiculing her aspirations and defended her right to chase her dreams. Taking to X, Nami wrote, People really want to misunderstand her to make fun of her. This is not OK!! Ekta, don’t listen to all these clowns making fun of you. I think you’re cool and living the dream! When you’re done with school, you’re welcome to work at Truecaller in any of our offices around the world.

While Nami’s gesture received mixed reactions, with some calling it a gimmick to earn brownie points, others hailed it as a wonderful gesture. One user commented, Wow! Wholesome gesture.

However, a third user questioned Nami’s decision to offer Ekta a job without knowing her skills. They criticized the lack of an interview or CV and implied that her selection was solely based on leaving her home country. Nami promptly responded to the criticism, stating that an educated person with high ambitions to learn was all he needed. He clarified, A well-educated person is a person with high ambitions to learn new things. That’s all you need. PS. Our CFO is a space physicist.

Applauding Ekta’s focus on studying biotech, Nami expressed his commitment to help her prove that bullying is unacceptable. He defended her right to pursue her dreams and questioned the connection between her home country and her career ambitions, emphasizing that ambition and potential were more important criteria for employment.

In conclusion, a biotech graduate faced unwarranted criticism for expressing her desire to pursue a career in business. However, amidst the negativity, the co-founder of Truecaller extended a job offer, standing up against the trolls and demonstrating the company’s commitment to supporting ambitious individuals. This story serves as a reminder that one’s aspirations should be valued and encouraged, and bullying should never be tolerated.
