Buffalo Bills Make Roster Moves: RB Ty Johnson Signed, Tommy Doyle and Shane Ray Placed on Injured Reserve

In an effort to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season, the Buffalo Bills have made several notable moves. The team announced on Monday that they have signed running back Ty Johnson and added tackle Garrett McGhin to their roster. However, this comes with the unfortunate news that tackle Tommy Doyle and defensive end Shane Ray have been placed on injured reserve.

The signing of Ty Johnson brings depth and versatility to the Bills’ running back position. Known for his explosive speed, Johnson has shown promise throughout his career and could provide a valuable asset to the team’s offense. With his signing, the Bills have added another weapon to their already formidable backfield.

In addition to the signing of Johnson, the Bills have also added tackle Garrett McGhin to their roster. Although McGhin has yet to make his debut for the team, he brings depth to the offensive line and could contribute if given the opportunity. Having previously had stints with the Bills and playing two games for the Panthers in 2019, McGhin brings some experience to the table.

Unfortunately, with the arrival of new players, there also comes some setbacks. Tommy Doyle, a fifth-round pick in 2021, and Shane Ray, a former first-round pick, have both been placed on injured reserve. Doyle, who played in 12 games over the past two seasons, suffered a devastating ACL tear that will sideline him for the foreseeable future. Ray, on the other hand, has not played a regular season game since 2018 and his return to action remains uncertain.

It is worth noting that both Doyle and Ray will be ineligible to return to the active roster later this season, which is a blow to the Bills’ depth on both the offensive line and the defensive end position. Nevertheless, the team remains optimistic and will look to other players to step up and fill the void left by these injuries.

As the Bills make these roster moves, they are surely aiming to bolster their chances of success in the upcoming season. With the addition of Ty Johnson and Garrett McGhin, the team hopes to strengthen their offense and provide depth in key positions. Although the injuries to Tommy Doyle and Shane Ray are setbacks, the Bills are determined to overcome them and continue their pursuit of greatness.
