Bihar police recently handed over another suspect to Burhanpur counterparts in connection with a robbery at a liquor contractor’s office. Gunjan Yadav, aged 34, was arrested from Kemur district in Bihar, where police recovered Rs 1 lakh from him. Yadav worked in the liquor shop and was fired a few days before the robbery. He shared the details of the safe and the cash stored in it with his friends, leading to the robbery. Likewise, earlier, on November 27, 2022, a five-member gang targeted the liquor contractor’s office and robbed Rs 12.20 lakh after holding two employees captive at knife-point.
Police have arrested three suspects, having searched for the other two. According to SP Lodha, the accused robbed the office on Yadav’s tip-off and fled through Raver, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Amravati, Varanasi, and Bhabua, reaching Kaimur district of Bihar.
The recovered FASTag number in a mobile phone gave police a lead in the case. Yadav’s arrest took place due to his working on the liquor shop earlier, where he gathered information about the office. He shared this with his friends, hatching a plan to rob the place, which ultimately landed them behind bars.
The Burhanpur police team produced Yadav in front of the local court on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. The robbers’ gang constitutes of members from multiple states and are still under investigation.
