Bhopal’s annual goat market has set off with high demand and even higher prices. With Bakrid celebrations just around the corner, breeders and farmers are gearing up to showcase their finest goats. Nawab, the most expensive goat at the Gandhi Nagar market, was sold for a whopping Rs 1.25 lakhs. Totapari came in at a close second, priced at Rs 60,000. These prices are significantly higher than the average cost of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 for most goats available in the market.

The enthusiasm amongst buyers is expected to intensify as the auspicious occasion draws near. Breeders are traveling from nearby areas to sell their goats in anticipation of the occasion. Furthermore, prices are predicted to increase as the festival approaches. Goat breeder Arif Khan attributes the high price of the Nawab to its weight of 1.03 quintals and the special care taken in feeding it dry fruits and grams, along with regular health checkups.

Another market located at Subhash Nagar railway crossing showcased goats with prices ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000. Breeder Jamil Mian disclosed that prices are bound to rise with Eid just three days away.

Rahul Malviya, owner of Malwa goat breeding farm, Phunda Block, offers his customers goats with prices ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 35,000. Orders from customers are already pouring in, with buyers keen to purchase these goats in advance.

In conclusion, the goat market in Bhopal is bustling with activity as traders from near and far flock to sell their prized goats. While a select few buyers have shown a willingness to spend large sums of money to procure the perfect goat, there are still options available for those with more modest budgets. The market shows no signs of slowing down with Bakrid set to be celebrated on June 29.
