Leva Susie King, was called to heaven on July 14, 2024. Born in Jan. of 1946 in Owensboro, Kentucky to parents Everett and Elizabeth Richeson, and older sister, Mary Deanna. Growing up in a loving and caring home, she learned the family values that she would practice for the rest of her life. In 1966 she married the love of her life Harold, finished her nursing degree, and began their new life together. Her first years of marriage were spent working as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in pediatrics, the birth of their first child, the loss of her mother in 1969 to cancer, a husband drafted into the military, and a move to California. Years later, after returning to Owensboro, she continued her nursing career in private care and would go on to have two more children. Harold and Susie would spend almost 58 years of married life together being faithful stewards to God, attending church, raising three children, and being successful small business owners. She was always caring and supportive to anyone in need no matter the situation or cost just as her mother and father had raised her to be. After raising her children, she decided to do more with her life and went to work for the school system as a teacher’s assistant. She valued her time working with the young children in the elementary schools, and always made sure the children had everything they needed to succeed. Before retirement, she worked for American Greetings and took pride in making sure her work was completed on time and to perfection. She was awarded certificates and several accolades for her dedication to her work. Later in life, she enjoyed sewing, antiques, spending time with her children, grandchild, all her four-legged grandchildren, and helping those in need in any way that she could. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her sister; Mary Deanna Richeson, husband; Harold King, sons and daughter-in-laws; Alan and Susan King, Kenny and Debra King, Brad and Lea Carol King; grandson, Zackary King; one four-legged child, Marley; and numerous four-legged grandchildren.
