Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Department of Higher Education (DHE) in Madhya Pradesh has released the second allotment list for admissions to Bachelor of Education (BEd) colleges. As per reports, the cut-off for general category students has gone up from 64% to 67% compared to the first round of centralised online counselling.
In the second round, the cut-off for 33 colleges is around 80%. During the registration process, students were required to select 15 colleges in order of priority. However, several students did not receive admission to their top 5 preferred colleges.
Furthermore, an association office-bearer commented that students who did not receive a seat in the second list should not get discouraged as there will be one more round of counselling. This allows students who did not get a seat or did not get a seat in their preferred college to do another round of choice-filling, potentially receiving admission in the third round of counselling.
Devi Ahilya Teacher Education College Association president, Abhay Pandey, stated that the second round of counselling is expected to fill up to 60% of seats in colleges. Students who have been allotted seats in the second round of counselling have been given time until June 26 to submit their fees to their respective colleges for confirmation of admission.
It should be noted that the second allotment list has caused a rise in the cut-off for general category students seeking admission into BEd colleges. However, the third and final allotment list could provide opportunities for students who did not receive admission in prior rounds. The DHE in Madhya Pradesh continues to provide further information and updates on the admission process.
