Saturday night television schedules have come under fire for their lack of gender diversity, with not a single female presenter featured across the BBC1 and ITV1 lineups. Out of the ten men dominating the prime-time programming, Bradley Walsh took the spotlight the most, appearing three times across a series of shows. The absence of female hosts is particularly disheartening as some of the biggest Saturday night programs were originally fronted by women, such as Anne Robinson on The Weakest Link and Ulrika Jonsson on Gladiators. While Davina McCall did feature on The Masked Singer, it was alongside four other male presenters. Critics argue that despite the push for greater diversity, television networks are failing to represent half the population.
