Silver Strikers regained their position at the top of the TNM Super League log table in Malawi after beating Karonga United 4-0 on Sunday at Bingu National Stadium. This victory puts Silver Strikers ahead of FC Nyasa Big Bullets by three points. Despite drawing 1-1 at home with Dedza Dynamos, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers still holds third place with 20 points.

Patrick Macheso stole the limelight in Sunday’s match, scoring a hat-trick for Silver Strikers. Mark Fodya added the fourth goal to carry his team to triumph. Macheso was voted Man-of-the-match with a TNM Mpamba Cash-In of K50,000.

Silver Strikers Head Coach Hendrikus Pieter De Jongh expressed his pride in his team’s performance, stating that they outshone Karonga United in all departments. He added that they are focusing on their next match and taking each match one at a time.

Despite the defeat, Karonga United Coach was optimistic about his team’s fortunes, citing a lack of finishing power as the main reason for their loss. He stated that they are now reworking their strategies in the hopes of making a comeback in the league.

In other TNM Super League matches, Ekwendeni had a home win against Extreme FC, with a final score of 1-0.
