Bank of Baroda introduces live video calling and web chat to enhance customer service

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, has launched two customer service initiatives to enrich the overall banking experience for its customers. The bank has introduced a Live Video Calling service called bob Video Chat, and a Live Web Chat facility called bob Live Chat on its website to enable customers to get in touch with customer service executives seamlessly. Besides, the bank has launched an easy-to-remember, single toll-free number in 11 languages that customers can dial for any banking query. Bank of Baroda is the first PSU bank to offer its customers video chat and live web chat services.

Customers can access the bob Live Chat facility through the bank’s website and get in touch with customer service executives through ADI, the bank’s virtual assistant/chatbot. Customers will get the option to start a live chat with a customer service representative to address their queries while chatting with ADI. On the other hand, bob Video Chat facility is available on the bank’s website homepage and its Digital Banking Units (DBUs) across the country. Customers can interact with the Customer Contact Centre executive through this video service and schedule calls at a time convenient to them during the week.

The newly launched 8-digit toll-free number (1800 5700) is available in 11 languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, and Bengali, and offers round-the-clock customer support.

The bank intends to improve customer experience and streamline branch network administration by offering live chat and video service channels to answer customers’ non-financial queries during business hours. Dinesh Pant, Chief General Manager – Operations, Bank of Baroda, said the chat services would help customers access all information on the bank’s products and services efficiently. Bank of Baroda operates in 17 countries and serves over 150 million global customers through its digital banking platforms, including the bob World mobile app. The app offers a seamless banking experience for saving, investing, borrowing, and shopping through a single application.
