Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, has shown a diplomatic gesture by sending 600 kg of mangoes as a gift to West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee. According to officials, the mangoes sent comprise the ‘Himsagar’ and ‘Langra’ variants. This is not the first time Hasina has sent mangoes as a gift to the Chief Minister of West Bengal, as last year she had done the same. In addition, Hasina has also sent mangoes to all the other chief ministers of Northeast India.
Such diplomatic gestures between different countries help strengthen the bond and bring harmony between them. It is noteworthy that last year Hasina had also sent mangoes as gifts to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Ministers of Tripura and Assam. The official in the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission also revealed a similar shipment last year.
This move by Bangladesh PM has been viewed as an attempt to strengthen the good relations between India and Bangladesh. Moreover, this will intensify the bond between the two nations, which will lead to better diplomatic relations. The act is appreciated, and it demonstrates goodwill between both the countries.
