In a recent development ahead of the assembly elections in Telangana, Bandi Sanjay, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has stepped down as the state party president. The news was announced by Sanjay himself via Twitter, where he expressed his gratitude to various party leaders for the opportunity to serve as the president of BJP Telangana.

Sanjay tweeted, Officially signing off as @BJP4Telangana State President. Thank you to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji, Hon’ble HM Shri @AmitShah ji and @BJP4India President Shri @JPNadda ji, Shri @blsanthosh ji, Shri @shivprakashbjp ji, Shri @tarunchughbjp ji, Shri @sunilbansalbjp ji, Shri @MenonArvindBJP ji for giving a common karyakarta like me, a big opportunity to serve as president of @BJP4Telangana.

Sanjay also expressed his gratitude to the central party leaders, BJP Telangana leaders, party members, and the people of Telangana who supported him throughout his tenure. He specifically thanked the leaders and members of all Morchas, Sangrama Sena, employees of the state party office, social media warriors, and the electronic and print media for their support.

While stepping down, he acknowledged that some chapters in our lives have to close without closure and apologized if he unintentionally hurt anyone during his tenure. He thanked the BJP karyakartas for standing with him in his fight against the KCR regime, stating that they faced arrests and attacks but stood their ground.

Sanjay concluded his tweet by expressing his optimism for the party’s future under the leadership of Shri Kishan Reddy and vowed to continue working for the party with renewed vigor.

In response to Sanjay’s resignation, the party’s central leadership appointed Etela Rajender, an MLA and former Telangana minister, as the Chairman of the Election Management Committee for the party’s state unit in the upcoming assembly elections.

Telangana is gearing up for elections later this year, and the BJP sees itself as a strong contender to bring about change from the ruling K Chandrashekhar Rao-led TRS government.

With Sanjay stepping down from his position as the state party president, it remains to be seen how this will impact the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections and the party’s prospects in the state. The political landscape in Telangana is likely to witness further developments as various parties gear up for the highly anticipated elections.
