Muslims in Kadapa (YSR district) celebrated the festival of Bakrid, also known as Eid-al-Adha, in a traditional manner. The occasion saw large gatherings at mosques where special prayers were offered. Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha joined the celebrations and also offered special prayers at the Idgah Dargah grounds at Mamillapalle on the outskirts of the city.

Speaking on the importance of Bakrid, Deputy CM Amzath Basha highlighted that the festival is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. He emphasized that the main theme of Bakrid is to observe and promote peace and universal brotherhood in the world. He took the opportunity to congratulate Muslims in the state on this joyous occasion.

The event witnessed a significant turnout of Muslim religious leaders and devotees who actively participated in the celebrations. The atmosphere was filled with the spirit of unity and harmony as the community came together to honor their faith.

Bakrid is an occasion that holds immense significance in the Islamic calendar. It is a time when Muslims worldwide commemorate the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. The festival symbolizes the importance of faith, sacrifice, and compassion. Muslims traditionally sacrifice animals, primarily goats, and distribute the meat to the less fortunate, promoting the values of empathy and generosity.

The celebrations in Kadapa district were a vibrant display of devotion and unity among the Muslim community. The prayers offered at mosques invoked blessings and guidance from Allah, while also spreading the message of peace and brotherhood.

The Deputy CM’s presence and participation in the celebrations highlighted the government’s acknowledgment and support for religious diversity and cultural celebrations. Such gestures foster an atmosphere of inclusivity and harmony within the state.

As we commemorate Bakrid, it is crucial to reflect on the universal values it emphasizes – peace, compassion, and brotherhood. These principles transcend religious boundaries and promote unity among all human beings. The festival serves as a reminder for everyone to uphold these virtues and strive for a harmonious coexistence in our society.

On this auspicious occasion, we extend our warm greetings to the Muslim community in Kadapa and beyond, hoping that the spirit of Bakrid continues to inspire humanity to embrace diversity, foster understanding, and promote universal brotherhood. May the celebrations of Bakrid spread love, joy, and peace among all individuals, regardless of their faith or background.
