A baby who sustained a bullet injury below her shoulder during the Lucknow courtroom shootout that killed gangster Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva has been discharged from the King George’s Medical University. The 18-month-old girl was brought to the hospital shortly after the incident, which also injured two constables. Doctors at KGMU said the toddler’s recovery after the bullet was taken out had been satisfactory and she will lead a normal life now. The bullet had entered the girl’s body from behind, apparently due to the ricochet effect. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier visited the baby in hospital. Sandeep Tiwari, head of the trauma surgery department at KGMU, said the girl is absolutely fine now and they have called her in for a follow-up after five days, but she may not need to be called again if everything is alright.
