Babel Street Appoints Former CIA Chief Data Scientist Dr. Barbara Stevens as Newest Advisor

Dr. Stevens has a diverse background in government, academia, and industry, making her a valuable addition to Babel Street’s advisory board. She currently holds the position of NACD Certified Independent Director for Draper Laboratory and Moneycorp US, as well as a member of the Proxy Board for Hexagon US Federal. Previously, she served as the CEO of a technology startup that provided media monitoring and advanced open-source solutions to intelligence and law enforcement organizations.
With over 35 years of experience in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Dr. Stevens has played instrumental roles in using data analysis and cloud computing to modernize the agency’s technology infrastructure. Her expertise in big data analytics will be especially advantageous for Babel Street’s public and private sector customers.

Dr. Stevens previously served as the Chief of Data Science at the CIA’s Directorate of Digital Innovation and held key positions in the Directorate of Analysis. She holds a PhD in Mathematical Statistics and currently serves as a strategic advisor to the Office of Artificial Intelligence at the CIA.
