Mumbai City FC has extended the contract of young forward Ayush Chhikara for three more years until May 2026. The 20-year-old Haryana-born player started his journey with the Reliance Foundation Young Champs before joining MCFC in October 2020. He spent one year on loan at the Sudeva Delhi FC in the 2020-21 season, and after being sidelined for 12 months due to an injury, he finally made his debut for MCFC in the 2022 Durand Cup.
Chhikara was a part of the Mumbai City FC squad that won the Indian Super League last season, and he scored the only goal in their 1-0 win over Chennaiyin FC in the Super Cup 2023. The MCFC coach Des Buckingham stated that Ayush possesses many unique and positive attributes that make him an exciting player with excellent potential.
In his statement, Ayush thanked the club and his teammates for their unwavering support and faith in him. He promised to work hard and repay the club’s trust in him. Mumbai City FC’s fans will be thrilled to know that their promising forward is staying with them for the next three years.
