A Cotswolds country pub transformed by a former Michelin-starred chef is receiving glowing reviews for its Sunday lunches and exceptional cuisine. The Halfway At Kineton, located in a picturesque village just outside Broadway in Worcestershire, has been impressing diners with its log fires, hearty food, and stunning countryside setting. The pub, which also offers three rooms for overnight stays, has caught the attention of Prue Leith, judge on the Great British Bake Off. The rave reviews online, including frequent five-star ratings, are testament to the success of Nathan Eades, the ex-head chef of Michelin-starred Simpsons restaurant in Edgbaston, and his partner Liam Goff, who have breathed new life into the 17th Century inn.

The Sunday roasts at The Halfway At Kineton are among the favorites, featuring dishes such as grass-fed Herefordshire beef sirloin and braised Cornish shoulder of lamb, accompanied by double spud, veg, cauliflower cheese, and a Yorkshire pudding with prices starting at £23. For dessert, patrons can enjoy treats like black treacle and date steamed pudding with clotted cream or dark chocolate delice with kirsch whipped mascarpone and griottine cherries, priced between £9.50 and £10.50.

Nathan Eades has an impressive culinary background, starting his career at Worcester College and training at Warwickshire’s Nailcote Hall Hotel as an apprentice. His talent and expertise were recognized when he became head chef at Birmingham’s renowned Simpsons restaurant in September 2015. Eades has also made a name for himself internationally, being the first British chef invited to cook at Montreal’s Maple Festival in 2017.

Eades teamed up with his colleague and friend Liam Goff, whom he worked with at The Wedgewood Hotel and Spa in Vancouver, Canada. After leaving Simpsons at the end of 2017, Goff joined Eades in the UK at The Wild Rabbit in Kingham, a Cotswold gastro pub acclaimed with three AA rosettes.

Guests at The Halfway At Kineton have been effusive in their praise. Google reviews have described the food as phenomenal, delicious, and awesome, with particular appreciation for the Sunday lunch offerings. Visitors have highlighted the friendly staff, quality of service, and overall dining experience.

The gastropub is attracting not only enthusiastic diners but also celebrity chef Prue Leith, who has visited the establishment. The celeriac and mushroom pie has become a firm favorite among patrons.

Situated in the village of Kineton at Guiting Power, The Halfway At Kineton is easily accessible from Birmingham, with a journey time of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes by car. Reservations for tables or rooms can be made via the pub’s website or by phone.

With its combination of exceptional food, charming atmosphere, and idyllic location, The Halfway At Kineton is proving to be a must-visit destination for food lovers and those seeking a memorable dining experience in the Cotswolds.
