Author Will Leitch will be visiting the Francie & Fitch Bookshop in Lincoln to promote his new book, The Time has Come. Leitch, a national sportswriter and resident of Athens, Georgia, is excited to visit Lincoln, a city that wasn’t initially on the map for his book tour.
The appearance coincides with a gameday weekend, making it an ideal opportunity for a father-son trip to Memorial Stadium, where the Huskers will be facing No. 2 Michigan on Saturday. Leitch, who hails from Illinois, will be rooting for Nebraska against Michigan.
The Time has Come is Leitch’s sixth book and serves as a follow-up to How Lucky, which received an Alex Award from the American Library Association. The new novel is set in Lindbergh’s Pharmacy, a beloved mom and pop shop in Athens. The story follows a group of strangers who come together over the course of a day, facing a dramatic and intense event.
Leitch describes the book as a feel-good story about a terrifying event, highlighting the innate goodness in people and their willingness to come together in times of stress and fear. Set against the backdrop of the 2021 pandemic, the book blends suspense, humor, and compassion.
Leitch is thrilled to share his book in a place like Lincoln and appreciates the beauty, utility, and necessity of bookstores like Francie & Fitch.
The event with Will Leitch will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at Francie & Fitch Bookstore.
