The South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium was established in 2001 with the goal of unifying the individuals and organizations providing services to the homeless. Over the years, this consortium has identified gaps and implemented programs and services to support individuals in their journey towards self-sufficiency. Since its inception, the Consortium has received more than $31 million in federal funding, which has been used to facilitate the development, operation, and provision of supportive services for various homeless programs across the state.
By adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Federal Continuum of Care Program, the South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium aims to make meaningful progress in addressing homelessness and providing individuals and families with the housing opportunities and support services they need to overcome their circumstances. With the submission of pre-applications, the Consortium hopes to identify and support innovative projects that can make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness in South Dakota.
