Atiku Insists on Release of Tinubu’s Academic Records for Alleged Identity Fraud

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is continuing to push for the release of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records from the Chicago State University (CSU) in order to expose an alleged case of identity fraud. This revelation came from the Director of Research and Documentation of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization, Don Pedro Obaseki, during a recent Zoom conference. Obaseki accused Tinubu of fighting tooth and nail to prevent the release of his credentials, as they contain details that could cause serious damage to his reputation.

Obaseki further claimed that when Tinubu’s academic records are made public by the university, Nigerians will be shocked to learn the truth. He confidently asserted that the real owner of the academic records, which Tinubu currently lays claim to, will be revealed. Obaseki also expressed optimism that the release of these documents could lead the Supreme Court to consider new evidence in support of the ongoing petitions.

Drawing comparisons to the justice system, Obaseki argued that even when fresh and compelling evidence is presented minutes before the Supreme Court hands down its final judgment, the court is obliged to take those facts into account. He believes that if new facts are presented alongside Tinubu’s academic records, the Supreme Court will be compelled to rule based on the weight of the evidence.

In addition, Obaseki criticized the interpretation of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) regarding the position of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) on the status of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He dismissed the PEPC’s ruling as an attempt to fabricate evidence, arguing that Abuja cannot be classified as a state according to constitutional requirements. Obaseki urged the Supreme Court to address this issue and ensure that the law is applied correctly.

Obaseki also took the opportunity to criticize Tinubu’s economic policies, accusing him of hindering Nigeria’s development. He cited the abrupt removal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the naira as examples of knee-jerk approaches to economic issues that have negatively impacted the country.

Furthermore, Obaseki called for the prosecution of Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), whom he accused of complicity in manipulating the electoral process to benefit the All Progressives Congress.

As Atiku’s representative, Obaseki echoed the former vice president’s rejection of military intervention and emphasized the importance of democracy despite its imperfections. He concluded by urging the Supreme Court to fulfill its moral obligation to ensure justice for all Nigerians, regardless of their social status.

In light of these developments, it remains to be seen how the release of Tinubu’s academic records may affect the ongoing petitions before the Supreme Court and the political landscape in Nigeria.
