Atiku Abubakar Secures Ruling for Access to President Bola Tinubu’s Academic Records
In a recent legal victory, former Nigerian Vice President and flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has won his suit to gain access to President Bola Tinubu’s academic records at the Chicago State University (CSU). Atiku Abubakar had obtained a court order from a Magistrate Court, compelling the Chicago State University to disclose President Tinubu’s academic records, including his admission and acceptance letter. However, President Tinubu appealed against the ruling and managed to secure an order from Justice Gilbert to stay the execution of the Magistrate court ruling.
Undeterred, Atiku Abubakar filed a counter-appeal, and Judge Nancy Maldonado ultimately ruled in his favor, denying President Tinubu’s appeal. According to the court’s decision, the university is required to provide the requested records by Monday, October 2, and the process must be completed by Tuesday, October 3.
