The University of North Dakota’s Department of Communication is seeking three Assistant Professors of Communication to join its faculty in Grand Forks, North Dakota. These tenure-track positions are available in the areas of digital journalism, including interactive and data journalism, with a focus on diverse social, cultural, political, and global contexts. Candidates with professional experience in multimedia journalism on digital and social media platforms, as well as sports journalism/broadcasting, are encouraged to apply.

The University of North Dakota has made a significant investment in reviving digital journalism education and will be launching a new B.A. in Journalism program in the fall of 2024. This comprehensive program will cover community journalism, multimedia reporting and storytelling, data-driven storytelling, and sports journalism and broadcasting – the first of its kind in the state. The department maintains a strong collaborative relationship with newspaper and broadcasting companies across the state and boasts a prominent journalism alumni base.

To be considered for these positions, applicants must have expertise in studying digital journalism, a commitment to the success of students, and the ability to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
