Assam MLA Launches Plantation Competition With Cash Prizes for Constituents

BJP legislator from Assam, Mrinal Saikia, has launched a unique initiative known as ‘Green Khumtai’ to protect and preserve the environment while encouraging active involvement in tree planting. The competition saw thousands of people, including women and children from Khumtai assembly constituency, plant trees on a large scale. The competition focused on planting native species of saplings, with prizes awarded to first-place winners in group and individual categories. Mr. Saikia plans to make various clusters of a particular type of tree in Khumtai and provide cash prizes to the winners. The initiative aims to create a culture of environmental responsibility within the community, with Mr. Saikia previously organizing a clean village competition in his constituency and distributing prizes.
