Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Monday to seek assistance for the state’s infrastructure projects. Sarma urged Gadkari to expedite key projects such as the underwater tunnel between Gohpur and Numaligarh, the Guwahati Ring Road, the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor, and the four-laning of various national highway stretches in Assam.
In the meeting, Gadkari assured Sarma that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways would provide all possible help and support in accelerating these infrastructure projects in Assam. One of the major projects discussed was the proposed underwater tunnel between Gohpur and Numaligarh.
