Assam Wrestling Association (AWA) has been granted membership of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), as confirmed by the Indian Olympic Association’s ad-hoc committee for wrestling. This significant development comes after AWA approached the Gauhati high court, resulting in the suspension of the national federation’s election.
The ad-hoc committee informed AWA that their membership application had been accepted, effective immediately.
