In a recent development ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan, cracks within the Congress party were exposed as All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi shed light on the dissension among its ranks. Owaisi revealed that he is fully aware of how many Congress leaders are eagerly waiting for an opportunity to defect from the party.
Congress is making lofty claims, but do not think that I am unaware of what is going on within your party. I know how many people are ready to abandon ship, and how many are simply waiting for the right moment, Owaisi pointed out.
Owaisi further disclosed that there have been secret discussions between certain Congress leaders and the AIMIM. He stated that he advised them to exercise patience and wait for the right time before making any decisions. We will inform you when the time is right, Owaisi assured.
Taking a dig at the Opposition meeting held in Patna, Owaisi highlighted the actions of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar. He mentioned that while Pawar brought Praful Patel along to the meeting, Patel has subsequently joined forces with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This was evident as Patel was present at Ajit Pawar’s oath-taking ceremony on Sunday.
The Opposition meeting in Patna saw Praful Patel, whom Sharad Pawar himself had brought with him, aligning with the BJP today, Owaisi revealed.
Owaisi did not spare the Congress either, as he criticized their claims of being secular. He called on the party to introspect and analyze their own actions, highlighting instances where they have been unfaithful.
Congress is quick to distribute certificates of secularism. However, they need to look inward and see how they have deceived people, Owaisi said.
He further added that every opposition party leader is currently lamenting about the NCP being broken by the BJP. However, Owaisi questioned the morality of buying four MLAs in Bihar, emphasizing that if it is wrong for the BJP to do so, it should also be seen as wrong when the Congress engages in such actions.
With this revelation by Owaisi, the Congress party finds itself facing internal tensions and dissatisfied members. As the Assembly elections in Rajasthan approach, these challenges within the party could have a significant impact on its performance. It remains to be seen how the Congress will navigate these fissures and maintain unity within its ranks.
In the world of politics, alliances and shifting loyalties are common phenomena. The coming weeks will undoubtedly shed more light on the consequences of the alleged discussions between AIMIM and certain Congress leaders. The political landscape in Rajasthan is poised for an intriguing battle, where not only will parties compete against each other but also face internal turmoil. As voters eagerly await the Assembly elections, the future of the Congress party will depend on how it handles these internal divisions and presents a united front to the electorate.
