Two suspects have been arrested in connection to vandalism and thousands of dollars worth of burglary at Chico’s Historic ‘Stansbury home’ last month.
According to the Chico Police Department (CPD), on February 20, they were contacted about a burglary at the Stansbury Home. The Stansbury Home is a historical landmark in Chico that contains artifacts and historical items. They said the caller reported that thousands of dollars worth of antique items had been stolen and the property was vandalized.
Immediately, CPD says, detectives began investigating the incident. After gathering sufficient information and evidence, detectives say they were able to identify two suspects, Sylvia Satara McDaniel, age 33, and Brian Dean Martin, age 29.
On March 21, CPD’s Crisis Response Unit responded to a home on the 1700 block of Vista Verde Ave. in Chico to serve an arrest warrant for Martin. During a search of Martin’s place of residence, officers and detectives located and recovered stolen items that they said belonged to the Stansbury Home.
Martin was arrested for being a felon in possession of ammunition, as well as Burglary and Vandalism.
Detectives say McDaniel was later contacted and arrested without incident on March 23, for burglary, and vandalism.
