Arrest Made in Horrific Triple Murder of NYC Woman, Dog, and Friend
After an intensive month-long manhunt, police have finally apprehended a suspect in the brutal murders of a woman, her dog, and her friend in New York City. Lenue Moore, a 31-year-old individual, was arrested by officers, accused of shooting Jackie Billini, her pitbull Zeus, and her friend Levaughn Harvin near 165th Street in Washington Heights on September 29. Moore is now facing charges including murder, criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated criminal contempt, and aggravated cruelty to animals, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).
Authorities revealed that a long-standing dispute between Moore and Billini, who were neighbors, was the motive behind the tragic incident. The dispute stemmed from noise complaints about Billini’s pitbull barking in her apartment. In addition, Moore had previously burglarized Billini’s apartment, resulting in her suffering a broken arm and another female companion being assaulted. Following this incident, Billini obtained an order of protection against Moore, which prohibited him from coming near her or contacting her. However, Moore was released on bail shortly after being arrested for these charges.
Billini, who feared for her safety due to Moore’s release, often asked Harvin to accompany her as she walked her dog. Kenny, NYPD’s Chief of Detectives, noted that Harvin was helping Billini as she was in fear for her life because of this guy. On the day of the shooting, around 6:30 p.m., Moore allegedly approached Billini, Harvin, and her dog while dressed in black and wearing a mask. He fired several shots, leading to the tragic deaths of Billini, Zeus, and Harvin.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Billini’s funeral expenses. Dedicating the page to her memory, it describes Billini as a kind-hearted and loving woman known for her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and compassionate nature. Her sudden departure has left a significant void in the lives of her family and the community.
As the investigation continues and details emerge, the community mourns the loss of three innocent lives. The arrest of the suspect brings some relief, but it also raises questions about the justice system and the need for stricter measures to protect individuals against potential threats.
