An arrest has been made in the tragic murder of a Guadalupe woman, whose body was discovered in San Ysidro last month. German Armando Luna Salazar was apprehended by United States Customs and Border Personnel at the San Ysidro Point of Entry on Saturday morning. The San Diego Police Department confirmed that Salazar has been booked into the San Diego County Jail on a charge of murder.

The arrest warrant was issued after the lifeless body of Leyva Elizabeth Oregel was found in a car on the morning of July 4. Authorities determined that she had suffered blunt force trauma to her upper body, leading them to conclude that her death was a result of homicide. Salazar, who is believed to be her ex-husband, was identified as the primary suspect in the crime.

Before this discovery, a missing person’s report had been filed with the Guadalupe Police Department for Oregel, who was only 32 years old. The arrest of Salazar brings some closure to the family and friends of the victim, but it is undoubtedly a devastating loss.

In solidarity with the loved ones left behind, a fundraiser barbecue is being organized to support the family of Oregel. This event aims to provide much-needed financial assistance and emotional support during their difficult time.

German Armando Luna Salazar is expected to appear in court on Wednesday morning for arraignment. As the case moves forward, more details may emerge surrounding this senseless act of violence. The community awaits justice for Leyva Elizabeth Oregel and hopes that the legal system will ensure the guilty party is appropriately held accountable.

This tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and support in combating violence and ensuring the safety of individuals. The loss of a young life is never easy, but by standing together, we can strive for a safer society.
