Archaeological Museum with AR/VR Experience to Open in Vadnagar, Gujarat

A state-of-the-art archaeological museum featuring immersive technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality is set to open in the heritage city of Vadnagar in Gujarat. The three-storey museum will showcase the development of the town through the lens of seven cultural periods spanning 2,500 years. Visitors will also have a first-hand experience of a walkway through the excavated site. The government of Gujarat is overseeing the project, with the Union Ministry of Culture funding it. The $28.6m museum is set to open late 2022. Vadnagar, a historic town with a population of approximately 28,000, was recently added to the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
