Ansonia Man Arrested for Connecticut Car Dealership Burglaries

An Ansonia man has been arrested in connection with a series of car dealership burglaries in Connecticut. The 21-year-old suspect was taken into custody by authorities on Wednesday for allegedly burglarizing a car from a Wallingford dealership.

The arrest is linked to a burglary that took place in June, where three men and a driver broke into the Wallingford car dealership using crowbars and fire extinguishers. The perpetrators managed to steal two Infiniti SUVs before fleeing the scene. However, the police arrived at the dealership just as the stolen vehicles were making their escape, and a pursuit ensued onto the Wharton Brook Connector.

Further investigations revealed that the stolen Infiniti SUVs were later used in additional burglaries in Waterbury, East Haven, and Milford. Authorities have identified multiple similar-style burglaries that occurred between the fall of 2022 and the summer of 2023 throughout Connecticut.

The Wallingford Police Department took charge of the investigation and developed probable cause to arrest the suspect, Quadele Vickers, for his involvement in the car dealership burglary. Vickers is facing charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Following his arrest, Vickers was held on a $100,000 bond and appeared for arraignment at Meriden Superior Court. The successful collaboration between law enforcement agencies from Wallingford, Waterbury, East Haven, West Haven, Ansonia, Derby, Stratford, and North Haven contributed to the progress of the investigation.

This arrest marks a significant step in bringing those responsible for the Connecticut car dealership burglaries to justice. The authorities remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of local communities, working diligently to resolve cases and protect businesses from such criminal activities.

The Wallingford Police Department encourages anyone with information related to these incidents or any suspicious activities to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. Cooperation from the public plays a vital role in bringing criminals to justice and maintaining a safe environment for everyone.

As the legal proceedings begin against the suspect, the community hopes for a swift resolution to these cases. It serves as a reminder that law enforcement agencies are dedicated to identifying and apprehending individuals responsible for crimes, thereby ensuring the well-being of Connecticut’s residents.
