QUINCY – The annual Saving by Shaving event hosted by Granite Telecommunications raised $3.5 million for Boston Children’s Hospital’s pediatric research this year. The event, which began as a dare 11 years ago, saw over 10,000 participants this year, including notable figures like Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and David Ortiz. Participants gathered at Granite’s headquarters in Quincy, where each shave resulted in a $5,000 donation to The Every Child Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital. The funds will contribute to ongoing pediatric research and treatment efforts, further solidifying Granite’s commitment to supporting the hospital.
