Home Minister Amit Shah has urged the people of Manipur to lift the blockades at the Imphal-Dimapur National Highway-2 and ensure that basic food and other essential items reach those in need. Shah recently visited Manipur and held talks with various stakeholders to calm the situation. He appealed to all communities and sections of society to maintain peace, promote harmony, and surrender their weapons to the police. He also warned that those found possessing weapons during the police operation would face strict action. Security advisor to the Manipur government, Kuldiep Singh, has said that peace is returning to the state and normalcy is being restored.
