Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Jammu and Kashmir over the weekend to present job appointment letters to the families of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. Meeting with the families in person, Shah paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of these officers and their families.

As part of his two-day visit, Shah also laid the foundation stone for the Balidaan Stambh (Sacrifice memorial pillar) at Partap Park in Lal Chowk of Srinagar in honor of those who have died serving their country. He also paid tribute to Bharatiya Janata Party founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary and laid the foundation stone of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, as well as handing out Golden Health cards to beneficiaries.

Taking to Twitter, Shah shared that he had met with the family members of the victims of the Rajouri terror attack, extending his condolences and assuring them of government support. During his visit, Shah highlighted the bravery and courage of those who serve their country and vowed to continue fighting against terrorism.

Shah also addressed a public rally in Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar, invoking the determination, courage, and sacrifice of BJP’s founding father, Syama Prasad Mukherjee, and how this enabled Article 370 to be abrogated from Jammu & Kashmir. Shah reiterated that these sacrifices would not be forgotten, and that the fight against terror would continue to be a top priority.

Overall, Shah’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir was a reminder of the importance of recognizing and honoring the sacrifices of those who have died serving their country. The Home Minister’s efforts to provide support to these families through the issuance of job appointment letters and the laying of the Balidaan Stambh serves as a valuable reminder of their service and the ongoing efforts to protect national security.
