Ameesha Patel, the lead actress of the hit Bollywood film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, recently revealed that she suggested the casting of Utkarsh Sharma, who played the role of their little son Jeete in the movie. Utkarsh is the son of the film’s director, Anil Sharma.

During an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha shared that many children were being screen-tested for the role of Jeete. However, she felt that Utkarsh was perfect for the part and suggested his casting to Anil Sharma. She said, Anil ji, what are you doing? Your son is so cute, you should cast him. Anil Sharma asked her to convey this suggestion to the producers, and Ameesha immediately shared her thoughts with them. The producers agreed and cast Utkarsh in the film, considering Anil Sharma’s expertise in directing.

Ameesha also mentioned that Anil Sharma’s working style, which often involved long and irregular hours, made it practical to have his own son on set. She said, Anil Sharma has no timings. He will make you work 20 hours. In Gadar, we sometimes worked 30-32 hours at a stretch non-stop. And he also used to make his son work on the sets.

Ameesha expressed her admiration for Utkarsh’s work in Gadar, describing him as a sweet and talented boy who justified his role as the cute little son in the film. She still sees him as Jeete and believes he has grown up to be an innocent, sweet, and obedient young man.

In the upcoming sequel, Gadar 2, Utkarsh will be playing the grown-up son of Tara (played by Sunny Deol) and Sakeena (played by Ameesha Patel). The film is set in 1971 and is scheduled to release in theaters on August 11.

It is clear that Ameesha Patel played a crucial role in suggesting Utkarsh Sharma’s casting for the role of Jeete in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Her belief in his cuteness and talent convinced the producers to give him this opportunity. Fans are excited to see Utkarsh reprise his role in the sequel and witness his growth as an actor.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, released in 2001, was a massive success at the box office and became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The film garnered critical acclaim for its storyline, performances, and patriotic theme. It remains a beloved classic in the history of Indian cinema.
