Spanish animation company MeatBallStudios has created a hauntingly beautiful video that illustrates just how deep the remains of the Titanic sit at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean floor. The RMS Titanic sank on April 15, 1912, after hitting an iceberg, and still lies at a depth of 12,500 feet, resting in two main pieces among other debris.
The immersive digital scene takes viewers past multiple famous landmarks to serve as points of comparison for the depth of the Titanic. These include the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, and even the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
The video includes a compelling animation that recreates the deep sea dive by humans piloting a submersible to the ocean’s bottom. At the end of the dive, the Titan submersible remains were discovered near the sea floor, where the remains of the Titanic remain untouched.
The incredible depth at which the Titanic rests has long fascinated people around the world, and this video offers a unique perspective on the shipwreck that many have not seen before. MeatBallStudios created this animation to commemorate the ocean liner’s 109th anniversary of sinking.
This video further highlights how advanced technology has allowed us to capture the awe-inspiring wonders of our world, including the deep-sea ocean floors, better than ever before. It captures the imagination of viewers worldwide, inspiring them to contemplate and appreciate the vast, unexplored depths of the ocean and the mysteries that lie within.
