Jammu, India – Over 4,400 pilgrims set off from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Saturday, beginning their journey to the sacred Amarnath cave shrine. The pilgrimage to the 3,888-meter-high shrine is a significant religious event in Hinduism.
The pilgrims embarked on their journey in a secure convoy of 188 vehicles, marking the second batch to leave the base camp. With this group, a total of 7,904 pilgrims have now departed from the Jammu base camp to undertake the spiritual journey.
In the early hours of the morning, around 2,733 devotees started their pilgrimage to Pahalgam in 94 vehicles. Approximately an hour earlier, 1,683 pilgrims embarked on their journey to the Baltal base camp in a fleet of 92 vehicles.
